Queen Rania Teacher Academy (QRTA) promotes excellence in teacher education and policy deliberation in Jordan and throughout the region. Launched in June 2009 under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, QRTA furthers Her Majesty’s vision of improving education in Jordan and stimulating educational advancement across the Middle East. QRTA was established under the auspices of the Jordan Education Society, in partnership with Columbia University’s Teachers College (TC) and the Columbia University Middle East Research Center (CUMERC) in Amman. In association with these partners, QRTA will expand its activities across the Middle East in the coming years.

To promote teacher excellence in a comprehensive manner, QRTA’s activities are organized around five pillars:

• Raising awareness and conducting outreach
